What was the first song you leanrt? Hard for me to say!! I've learnt songs my whole life but I think the first song I learnt on Bass was "All Blues". It's a beautiful jazz song written by Miles Davis from the Album "Kind of Blue " It has a great bass line!

What’s your favourite memory of your early musical life? Playing piano with my Grandma and singing with my Grandad. I'd go over to my grandparents house everyday and play music with them, I still remember the songs I sang with my Grandad as a little kid.

What made you want to play music in the first place? I come from a very musical family, both my brothers are musicians, my grandparents are musicians, 1 Aunty, 2 uncles, 1 cousin and my Dad as well!!! I always loved it and have been lucky enough to be surrounded by lots of different influences and styles of music my whole life.

How old were you when you started playing? I started playing electric Bass when I was 16 and upright bass when I was 21. I have always sung.

Who were your music heroes/idols back then? When I was 16 I loved a lot of Jazz and Funk Bass players people like Bootsy Collins, Jaco Pastorious, Ray Brown.... the list goes on and on. I also loved Prince and lots of Blues musicians as well. I've always listened to a really wide range of music from all different genres.

Who are they now? At the moment I'm really into Kendrick Lamar and have also been getting back into some really old Bob Marley recordings. Music is great because there's so much of it!!! I'm always finding great new things to listen to.

What was the name of your first band? Flying Gurnard!
